We are delighted to announce that Prof. Dr. Marcus Conrad has been elected a member of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina.

With this prestigious distinction, the Leopoldina recognizes his outstanding scientific contributions to the understanding of ferroptosis and its significance for health and disease. Election to the Leopoldina follows a rigorous multi-stage selection process and is regarded as one of the highest academic honors in Germany. His election to the Leopoldina highlights both the importance of this field of research and the international impact of the work carried out within the SPP network.
