Two of our PIs, Marcus Conrad and José Pedro Friedmann Angeli, have been awarded the Deutscher Krebspreis 2026 in the category of Experimental Cancer Research.

Prof. Marcus Conrad, Helmholtz Munich and Prof. José Pedro Friedmann Angeli, University of Würzburg, have been awarded the Deutscher Krebspreis 2026 (German Cancer Award 2026) in the category Experimental Research for their work on ferroptosis.

The award is presented by the German Cancer Society and the German Cancer Foundation and is considered one of the most prestigious distinctions in oncology in Germany. It recognizes exceptional and forward‑looking scientific achievements that significantly advance our understanding of cancer biology, diagnosis, and therapy.
